Hi, I’m Julia and I'm here to help you in your Bible study journey. There are so many resources available to help you study Scripture - but, there are no programs that provide a structure to learn *just enough* of the original languages to navigate the free resources available online. You don't have to spend years learning the biblical languages. You can use the work others have done before you to easily access and unlock the magic of Biblical Greek. I've done all the hard work for you and only given you what you absolutely need.
I have my BA in Classical Languages and spent 4 years studying Biblical and Classical Greek. This degree combined with my 5 months studying in Jerusalem provides a unique perspective into Bible study.
I first began teaching Biblical Greek at a Classical Christian school to middle school aged students. They memorized material and were great students, but they were only learning this material for a test. BUT, I believe that this material can be used for the remainder of our daily lives if we learn the right material. I searched for YEARS for a class like this and I came up short. I finally decided to create my own. I've taught this to adults and high school students in person and I can't wait to make this material more accessible. This material is the same as the class I teach adults (in Biblical Greek Everyday), BUT - it has added lessons, handouts, and activities to help learn the material in more bite-size pieces.
Instead of memorizing vocabulary and grammatical endings, we focus on understanding grammatical concepts and the framework of the language. In real time, this means that we learn about the tenses, cases, participles, and more. A typical Biblical Greek class has a very heavy focus on memorization and teaches the grammatical endings, vocabulary, and syntax. In BGE:Homeschool, we learn the framework of the language and how to use recourses like Blue Letter Bible, Bible Hub, and Logos to fuel our Bible study.
It certainly seems daunting to study a whole new language in order to do a deeper Bible study! I've taken the difficult work out and provided you with a framework to understand the Biblical Greek so that you can become an informed Bible student. Using the content in my course, coupled with free resources available online, I will teach you how to navigate the waters of Biblical Greek so that you can better understand what the Bible says.
